Here's the label I did for the very limited edition soda bottles for Richard Matheson. They will be sold at Dark Delicacies in Burbank, CA. For fans of Richard's work this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get one or two of the bottles of soda.

A little history on Richard Matheson: Richard Matheson (born February 20, 1926) is an American author and screenwriter, primarily in the fantasy, horror, and science fiction genres. He is perhaps best known as the author of What Dreams May Come, Bid Time Return, A Stir of Echoes, The Incredible Shrinking Man, and I Am Legend, all of which have been adapted as major motion pictures. Matheson has also written for several The Twilight Zone television show episodes such as "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", and adapted his 1971 short story Duel into a screenplay later that year for the Steven Spielberg directed television movie of the same name. - Wikipedia

I've expanded my artistic endeavors . . . I love creating the digital art but wanted to get back to a more hands on approach. Thus, Steampunk clay art was born. Each are hand created from polymer clay, baked, then painted.

Just brought 4 images home framed and ready to go to the theatre! That makes 5 total. I have a ways to go but things are looking up! And the images are AWESOME! Printed on a Picasso canvas and laminated with an archival lam to preserve the rich colors!

How to easily Save Money when shopping online!

I don't know anyone who doesn't like to save a few bucks every time they shop. I have learned a trick. When you are at the checkout page of your favorite online shopping spot look for a box that says anything from; discount, coupon, deal, savings code or anything else related to a coupon. That means that somewhere on the net is an instant savings!

Go to your search engine of choice and type in (for example) "Hot Topic coupons" and you get back a ton of links. Some work, some don't, but isn't free shipping or 25% off worth the few minutes it takes to find one! Most of the time they work on the first link.

It's worth it for me. I've probably only paid shipping once in the last 6 months! I've gotten everything from 10-50% off on various items. What an easy way to save some money on what I was already going to buy!

So next time you want to buy flowers, clothing, coffee, cookies, cars, toys, books, movies, CD's, MP3's - anything - look for the discount box when checking out! It will save you a bunch! Maybe even enough for a couple of tanks of gas!

Tips on how to promote your Zazzle store

I'm an artist, not a writer so forgive me, I'll do my best to convey what I'm trying to say....

Evil Penguin started when my 17 year old son decided he was too cool to wear dark, gothic art. He wanted something unique, interesting and fun.

First thing to do is search what is popular and what market you are catering too. Create designs you like and think are going to sell. There are a ton of companies out there that will help with that.

I wanted to grab the teen/high school/college markets so I created a character that was cute, but also sarcastic and insulting.

I found sites that allow me to market my art and easily create t-shirts with no up front cost to me. I like zazzle.com because they also have a referral bonus and you can make more money. When you use the "zazzle star" program you can even make money back on your own items you buy personally. It's like an extra discount. :)

Once you have your store set up it's marketing time!
Zazzle has marketing tools to help you, hot links and even a scrolling view of all our products. Set up a blog, MySpace, Facebook and any other community pages you find. Copy the code from the Promotion site on Zazzle and paste into your sites. Wala - you have a direct link to your store. The more direct links you have the higher you are on search engines like google, yahoo and all the rest.

Then do some link exchanges. Go to your favorite search engine and put in Free links. You will get a bunch of sites to link share with. I set up my blog with a link share site so there are all on there. My blog also has the scrolling zazzle page right at the top.

Research keywords and tags. Make sure you have popular tags on your Zazzle homepage or they just wont generate the kind of traffic your looking for.

Top 100 sites have driven tons more traffic to my store! I went from a lousy 5 views a day to over 80 in just a day after signing up with http://funtshirts.top-site-list.com. Get your friends and family to vote for your sites too. It's easy and really helps! They reset the first of every month so everyone has a chance at the top spots! It's fair and a great way to get your name out there!

Make some eye catching banners showing discounts and specials. Post them on the Top 100 sites. Change them often so people will have new incentives to go back to your store to see new products and keep shopping!

Sure it takes a bit of time, but honestly in the month that I have been on Zazzle I have made over $50. That doesn't sound like a lot until you realize the average Zazzle user makes less then a dollar the first month!

Try these tips out and see if it doesn't help your sales increase!

Have you ever spoken and wished that you could immediately take the words back...or that you could crawl into a hole? Here are the Testimonials of a few people who did....

First Testimony: I walked into a hair salon with my husband and three kids in tow and asked loudly, "How much do you charge for a shampoo and a blow job?" I turned around and walked back out and never went back. My husband didn't say a word...he knew better.

Second Testimony: I was at the golf store comparing different kinds of golf balls. I was unhappy with the women's type I had been using. After browsing for several minutes, I was approached by one of the good-looking gentlemen who works at the store. He asked if he could help me. Without thinking, I looked at him and said, "I think I like playing with men's balls."

Third Testimony: My sister and I were at the mall and passed by a store that sold a variety of candy and nuts. As we were looking at the display case, the boy behind the counter asked if we needed any help. I replied, "No, I'm just looking at your nuts." My sister started to laugh hysterically, The boy grinned, and I turned beet-red and walked away. To this day, my Sister has never let me forget.

Fourth Testimony: While in line at the bank one afternoon, my toddler decided to release some pent-up energy and ran amok. I was finally able to grab hold of her after receiving looks of disgust and annoyance from other patrons. I told her that if she did not start behaving "right now" she would be punished. To my horror, she looked me in the eye and said in a voice just as threatening, "If you don' t let me go right now, I will tell Grandma that I saw you kissing Daddy's pee-pee last night!" The silence was deafening after this enlightening exchange. Even the tellers stopped what they were doing. I mustered up the last of my dignity and walked out of the bank with my daughter in tow. The last thing I heard when the door closed behind me, were screams of laughter.

Fifth Testimony: Have you ever asked your child a question too many times? My three-year-old son had a lot of problems with potty training and I was on him constantly. One day we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch in between errands. It was very busy, with a full dining room. While enjoying my taco, I smelled something funny, so of course I checked my seven-month-old daughter, and she was clean.Then I realized that Danny had not asked to go potty in a while, so I asked him if he needed to go, and he said "No". I kept thinking, "Oh Lord, that child has had an accident, and I don't have any clothes with me." Then I said, "Danny, are you sure you didn't have an accident?" "No," he replied. I just knew that he must have had an accident, because the smell was getting worse. So, I asked one more time, "Danny, did you have an accident?" This time he jumped up, yanked down his pants, bent over and spread his cheeks and yelled, "See mom, it's just farts!" While 30 people nearly choked to death on their tacos laughing, he calmly pulled up his pants and sat down. An old couple made me feel better by thanking me for the best laugh they'd ever had!

Last Testimony: This had most of the state of Michigan laughing for two days and a very embarrassed female news anchor who will, in the future, likely think before she speaks. What happens when you predict snow but don't get any....a true story... We had a female news anchor who, the day after it was supposed to have snowed and didn't, turned to the weatherman and asked: "So Bob, where's that eight inches you promised me last night?" Not only did he have to leave the set, but half the crew did too they were laughing so hard!

The Holiday's . . .

It's the holiday season and a hard time to sit down and do any art. I have a few ideas trying to burst from my head, but no time to bring them to fruition. Big sigh. I've been working on the marketing end of the business and have had another good day. Zany Graphics in Glendale, CA has ask for a print for advertising. He will be displaying it in his office to all the people that walk through the doors, including Art Directors for the neighboring studios. Can't be a bad step in getting the word out. Keep up the good vibes and thoughts. Things are finally happening!

I have been an artist since I was very young. My mom taught me how to draw bunnies while sitting in church. Thanks mom. Within the last 5 years the digital doors have been opened. Photoshop, Corel Painter and Poser are now what I use to create art.

The large limited edition pieces (52" x 52") are popular in Los Angeles and have gotten rave reviews. I'm currently showing two pieces at Universal Imaging in Burbank, CA and have sold individual pieces to several private collectors.
